MARGARETHA MARIA GILLEN---"Marge"

Aunt Marge (Margaret Mary) was the last child of Peter and Christina Gillen. She was born 5 December 1913 and baptized in St. Agnes Church. Her sponsors were John Mahowald, the eldest son of Catherine Gillen Mahowald, her father's oldest sister and Margaretha Gillen Keilen, the oldest daughter of her father's brother, Jacob Gillen. Marge attended St. Agnes School. On 19 November 1940 she married Leo Joseph Tibesar in St. Agnes Church. Leo was born in St. Paul on 19 August 1911. He also attended St. Agnes School and graduated from Cretin High School in 1929. Leo and Marge parented three children: Leo Jr., Rick, and Rosemary.

Leo was a long time railroad employee (I think the Great Northern) and Marge was mostly a homemaker.

Their daughter Rosemary writes; "Mom and Dad were the greatest parents. We are so lucky to still have Mom with us and she is the Matriarch of the Gillen Clan for the last few years. I hope to be just like her when I grow up!!! ( Come on now Rosemary, how long is going to take you to grow up???-another fifty years?) I remember all the great vacations in the Carlos/Alex area with Aunt Sue and Uncle George."

Leo died 12 April 1993. Marge suffered a stroke in March of 1998 and had been mostly confined to a nursing home since. Marge died on May 22, 2000 and was buried in Calvary Cemetery on May 26, 2000. Mass of Christian burial was preformed at St. Agnes Church by her son, Rev. Leo Tibesar.

Leo Joseph Jr. ( Father Lee ) was born 7 December 1942. He attended St. Agnes School and then the St. Paul Seminary. Leo was ordained a priest on 9 March 1968.

Richard James was born 20 January 1947. He attended St. Agnes Schools and then the College of St. Thomas, graduating in 1969 with B.S. in Sociology and Education. He taught Junior High at St. Andrews School in St. Paul for three years and then joined the St. Paul Police Department. He worked in patrol, training and vice for 16 years. He was promoted to Sergeant in 1988 and was assigned as a patrol supervisor. Rick joined the Sex Crimes Division in 1990 investigating sex crimes and child abuse. He has the honor of being one of two officers serving on the Police Civilian Internal Affairs Review Commission in St. Paul.

On 6 July 1968 Rick married Judith Ann Pates. Judy is a daughter of Robert and Virginia Pates. She was born 9 February 1947 in St. Paul. Rick and Judy have five children: Pam, Tim, Bob, Sara, and Marcus.

- Pamela Jeanne was born 1 March 1970. She is married to Bart Inninger. Bart was born 2 March 1969. They have a child; Michael Ryan born 14 February 1997. Pam works for an insurance company and Bart is a pysical education teacher and basketball coach.

-Timothy was born 29 August 1972. Tim attends San Diego State University studying for a Masters in Business. His goal is to be a head football coach in a Division I school.

-Robert James was born 3 February 1974. He is married to Amy Elizabeth Grau who was born 29 June 1975. Bob and Amy have a daughter Maria Therese born 27 February 1997. Bob is a 2nd LT. in the Air Force and is in medical school at the University of Minnesota.

- Sara was born 8 August 1977. She attended River Falls College in Wisconsin. She wants to be a teacher and coach in high school.

-Marcus was born 12 July 1986. He is a student and plays as much sports as time allows.

Rosemary Susan was born 1 July 1948. She married Dennis William King on 19 April 1969. They have three children: Larry, Sharon, and Katie. Dennis and Rosemary own Minnehaha Liquors in St. Paul.

-Larry was born 8 February 1970.

-Sharon Lee was born 13 June 1971. Sharon married Eric Stafki and they have a child: Kailey Rose born 7 December 1993.

-Katie was born 28 September 1976.
